The real Warden of the swamp, Walthus Proudstump, came downstairs after the fight with the strange faceless swamp-creature was over. Badly weakened by the creature’s touch Walthus was grateful to the Sandru, Izanti, Amieko, Traftar, and Senja for saving him for the shape-changing creature.
After a safe night’s rest in Walthus house the group headed off in search of the Goblin Village. Traftar found some strange tracks from a large bipedal creature and the party followed them deeper into the swamp. They led to a small mound, with a shallow den within.
Inside they were horrified to find the grisly remains of a several murdered townsfolk and travellers. What ever lived in the den had been preying on travellers for several years. Fortunately it wasn’t home.
In the fading light the decided to press on and not wait for the creature to find them at it’s Den. Finally they stopped to make camp an hour’s walk outside the Goblin Village. The night was restless for Traftar and Senja, who glimpsed dark shapes out of the corners of their eyes. Senja was plagued with dark thoughts, feeling unwelcome in a strange land where he barely spoke the language.
During Izati’s watch the legendary Sandpoint-Devil appeared directly infront of him startling him from his prayers to Desna-the God of Luck. Fortunately Izati’s luck was with him and the creature impaled itself on his spear. Another creature emerged from the shadows and a battle was fought in the darkness. The hero’s were victorious and the sources of their fears and horrors laid before them in the pre-dawn light.
