The caravan arrives at the gates of Turvik to find them closed under lockdown. A trio of prisoners had recently escaped from the fortress-city. The guards convince the party to look for the prisoners and return them.
Travelling through the snow in the freezing night they track the escapees to a cave mouth at the base of a large twisted oak tree.
Ignatius immediately sets the tree on fire. A horde of rodents flee the tree as it burns in the night. Ignatius follow up the fire with a massive explosion aimed at putting our the fire. However, the fire rages on covering the entrance to the cave.
Traftar uses his water and ice magic to create a break in the fire wide enough for the party to enter the cave. Meanwhile, Ignatuis and Ulf stay outside to cook stew, and capture any fleeing prisoners.
They spot two Tien men inside, who then flee deeper into the cave. Screams are heard. In the depths of the cave Traftar and Senja find a Tien woman’s body, another escaped prisoner… And the tomb of a giant. They quickly find what killed her wrathful dead giants, angered to have their resting place disturbed.
The group would have been overwhelmed if not for the help of the prisoners in fighting off the undead. One of the prisoners escaped into the snow after the battle. The other surrendered then fled during the night.
